Community Standards

Community Standards & Safety Policy

Nexo is a private community for verified college students. These standards exist to keep every campus community safe, real, and welcoming. They apply everywhere on Nexo — profiles, friends, groups, messages, and the campus feed — and to all users without exception.

1. Who may use Nexo

Nexo is only for verified college students who are 18 years of age or older. You must sign up with a valid .edu email address belonging to the college you attend.

By creating an account you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and that the information you provide is accurate. College-email signup does not independently prove age or identity. Accounts found to belong to minors, or created with false information, will be removed immediately.

Each person may hold one account, tied to their own verified college email. Impersonating another student or creating accounts on behalf of others is prohibited.

2. Illegal activity

You may not use Nexo to plan, promote, facilitate, or engage in any activity that is illegal under local, state, or federal law.

This includes, without limitation: buying, selling, or distributing illegal drugs or controlled substances; weapons sales; fraud; hacking or unauthorized access to accounts or systems; and any form of exploitation of another person.

Where required by law, or where we believe someone is in danger, we will report illegal activity to law enforcement and cooperate with lawful investigations.

3. Sexual content and exploitation — zero tolerance

Sexually explicit profile content is not allowed. Profile photos, bios, messages, group posts, and feed posts must not contain nudity, pornography, or sexually explicit imagery or solicitations.

Child sexual exploitation or abuse in any form is strictly prohibited. Any content that sexualizes minors, or any attempt to use Nexo to exploit, groom, or abuse a minor, will result in immediate removal and a report to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and law enforcement.

Sexual violence, threats of sexual violence, and content that glorifies or encourages sexual violence are prohibited.

Non-consensual intimate content is prohibited. You may never share, threaten to share, or solicit intimate images of another person without their consent — including images of yourself sent to someone who did not ask for them.

The facilitation of human trafficking or sex trafficking in any form is strictly prohibited and will be reported to law enforcement.

4. Scams and fraud

You may not use Nexo to defraud, scam, or financially exploit other users. This includes romance scams, fake investment or cryptocurrency schemes, phishing, requests for money or gift cards, and impersonating businesses or services.

Never share financial information, passwords, or verification codes with other users. Nexo staff will never ask for your password or payment details in a message.

Accounts engaged in scam activity will be removed and, where appropriate, reported to the relevant authorities.

5. Harassment, hate, and violence

Harassment, bullying, stalking, threats, and intimidation of any user are prohibited, whether in messages, posts, groups, or profiles.

Hate speech and content that attacks or dehumanizes people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any other protected characteristic is prohibited.

Content that promotes, glorifies, or incites violence or self-harm is prohibited.

6. Honesty and authenticity

Profiles must represent real, verified students. Fake profiles, catfishing, and misleading identity information are prohibited.

Spam, automated behavior, bots, and commercially soliciting other users (advertising, recruiting, promoting outside services) are not allowed without our written permission.

Anonymous posting on the campus feed is a privacy feature, not a shield — all of these rules apply equally to anonymous posts, and abuse of anonymity will lead to removal.

7. Privacy of others

Do not share another person's private information — including their college email address, phone number, address, or photos — without their consent.

Screenshots or recordings of private conversations may not be distributed to humiliate, threaten, or harass anyone.

8. Enforcement

Every profile and post can be reported in two taps. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team.

Violations may result in content removal, a warning, feature restrictions, or permanent account removal, depending on severity. Severe violations — especially those in Section 3 — result in immediate permanent removal and referral to authorities.

We may preserve and disclose account information where required by law or to protect the safety of our users.

If you believe a decision was made in error, contact nexo.service@outlook.com to appeal. Law-enforcement requests are handled under our Law Enforcement Protocols.

9. Your controls

You can block any user instantly — blocked users cannot see your profile or contact you.

You can report any profile, message, group, or post at any time.

You can request account deletion from Settings. Our Privacy Policy explains deletion and any records that may be retained for legal, safety, or billing requirements.
