Legal
Terms & Conditions
These terms govern your use of Nexo. They exist so every student knows where they stand — what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you.
Last updated: October 2026 · See also our Community Standards & Safety Policy
1. Accepting these terms
These Terms & Conditions are a legal agreement between you and Nexo. By creating an account, accessing, or using Nexo in any way, you agree to these terms.
If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use Nexo. You may close your account at any time from Settings.
These terms apply together with our Acceptable Use Policy and Community Standards & Safety Policy. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information, and our Refund Policy explains refund and cancellation terms.
2. Eligibility and accounts
Nexo is only for verified college students who are 18 years of age or older. You must sign up with a valid .edu email address belonging to the college you attend.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you believe your account has been compromised.
You may have one account only, tied to your own college email. You may not transfer or sell your account, or create an account for anyone else.
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information on your profile. Providing false identity information is a violation of these terms. College-email signup does not independently prove your age or identity.
3. Acceptable use
You may use Nexo only for lawful, personal purposes. You may not use Nexo to break the law, harm others, or disrupt the service.
You may not: harass, threaten, or stalk other users; post illegal or sexually explicit content; scam or defraud anyone; impersonate another person; scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorized access to Nexo; or use automated tools, bots, or scripts on the platform.
You may not use Nexo for commercial purposes — advertising, recruiting, or promoting outside services — without our written permission.
Our full rules on prohibited content and behavior are in our Community Standards & Safety Policy. Violations can lead to content removal, feature restrictions, or permanent account removal.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, text, and other content you submit to Nexo ("your content").
By submitting your content, you give Nexo a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it solely to operate and improve the service — for example, showing your photos on your profile or your posts in the campus feed. This license ends when you delete your content or your account, except for backup copies that are deleted in the ordinary course of business.
You are responsible for your content. Do not post anything you do not have the right to share, including photos of other people without their consent.
We may remove content that violates these terms or our Community Standards. We do not review every piece of content before it appears.
5. Privacy
Your privacy matters to us. Your college email address is never shown to other users — not to matches, groups, or the feed.
We collect and use personal information to operate Nexo, associate accounts with a college, keep the community safe, and provide support. Our Privacy Policy explains this in more detail.
You can block and report other users, control what appears on your profile, and delete your account — including all of your photos and data — at any time from Settings.
6. Premium subscriptions and payments
Nexo's core features — profiles, swiping, matching, messaging, friends, groups, and the campus feed — are free. Premium is an optional paid upgrade that adds extras such as seeing who liked you, unlimited swipes, undo, advanced filters, boosts, and customization.
Premium is billed through Stripe. Current prices are $4.99 weekly, $9.99 monthly, and $59.99 yearly, in US dollars, plus any applicable taxes shown at checkout. Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled. Eligible first-time members may choose a seven-day monthly trial; unless cancelled before it ends, the trial converts to a paid monthly subscription.
You can cancel Premium at any time; access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for. Unless the law says otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable.
We may change Premium prices or features. If we change the price of an active subscription, we will give you reasonable notice before the change applies to your next renewal.
7. Availability and changes
We work hard to keep Nexo available, but the service is provided "as is." We do not promise it will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or available in every location.
We may add, change, pause, or remove features, and we may suspend or discontinue the service at any time.
We may update these terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Nexo after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
8. Ending your account
You may delete your account at any time from Settings. Deletion removes your profile and associated service data through the deletion process, subject to retention described in our Privacy Policy. Cancel your Premium subscription separately before deleting your account.
We may suspend or permanently remove your account if you seriously or repeatedly violate these terms or our Community Standards — for example, for illegal activity, exploitation, scams, or harassment. Severe violations are reported to the relevant authorities.
Sections that should survive the end of your account — including licensing of content already shared, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution — remain in effect.
9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Nexo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
We are not responsible for the conduct of other users — online or offline. Always use caution when meeting anyone from the app, and report any behavior that concerns you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Nexo and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service.
Our total liability to you for any claim relating to Nexo is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or $50 if you have not made any payments.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Nexo operates, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
If you have a dispute with us, please contact us first — we want to resolve issues directly and fairly.
Where local law gives you the right to bring a claim in your local courts, that right is not affected by these terms.
11. Contact
For support, billing, privacy, legal inquiries, or questions about these terms, contact nexo.service@outlook.com. In-app reporting tools are also available for safety concerns.
If you are outside the United States, note that your information may be processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country.
